Modern Art Gallery  

Modern Art Gallery came into existence at the time of the inauguration of Bharat Bhavan  in 1982 the gallery was planned and conceived with the view of housing the most representative works of contemporary Indian art scene .Hence a grand inaugural show was mounted in which the highly accomplished artists had participated permanent collection of the Roopankar museum of art displayed in the Modern Art Gallery is stunningly expensive and intensely corresponding to the aesthetic notions of our times . These are the utterances of the Indian  essence completely showcasing the hectic attitudes of the modern artist towards form and its treatment .This attitude has given rise to a conglomeration of a unique multiplicity of diverge us features.

Here are collected the works of such luminaries of contemporary Indian art as Tayab Mehta, Krishn Khanna, Maqbool Fida Hussain, Akbar Padamse, K.G.Subramaniam, Nagribhai Patel, Ghulam Mohd. Sheikh, Vikas Bhattacharya , Jagdish Swaminathan and Manjit Bawa. Apart from these a host of other equally gifted painters, sculptors, ceramists and printmakers have been represented Bharat Bhavan’s Roopankar wing organize the Biennial of the Indian Contemporary Art of which the first event took place in 1986 . committed to be always abreast with the global art upsurge Roopankar apart from organizing individual shows of the internationally famed artist  also holds Biennials of International Printmaking Art. All the famous art exhibitions are held in the Modern Art Gallery .
